Election Returns Party
The HCGOP is hosting an Election Returns Party in the second floor lobby of the downtown Double Tree Hotel (407 Chestnut Street in Chattanooga) at 8:00 p.m. While there will be many candidate gatherings across the county, we want to have a central location where real time results can be viewed and where Republicans can meet and enjoy our victories. Candidates will be making appearances during and after the results are tallied. The lobby will be available from 8:00 p.m. until we are tired of celebrating. There will be a cash bar and light snacks available. If you would like to volunteer to assist in any way, contact Ed Warren or Mindy at headquarters (266-9351) or hcgop@hcgop.com.
Poll Watchers Needed!
Poll watcher training will be conducted at party headquarters for those willing to volunteer as poll watchers during early voting, the August 5 primary and general election, and the November general election.
WHAT: Republican Party Poll Watcher Training
WHEN: Tuesday July 27th @ 5:30 ? 6:30 PM
WHERE: Hamilton County Republican Party Headquarters - 316 N. Market Street
WHO: Republicans ages 17 and older
RSVP: Brett Hale or Mindy Rodriquez @ 423-266-9351
We also need volunteers for various other duties. If you can't be a poll watcher, please let us know if you can help prior to or on election day.
A note from Delores: Those who can't make it Tuesday evening might want to let Mindy know. I will conduct a brief session with you and can probably do it via email. At any rate, whether by email or running over and meeting you at headquarters, I want to make it easy for you to pitch in, and will be glad to accomodate you.
Again, I am looking for folks to work early voting and go with nursing home deputies when they vote the residents. Hours and locations are very flexible. I suggest 2 to 4 hour shifts, but you make you own schedule.
Again, if you or someone you know wants to be a poll watcher but can't come Tuesday, let me know. We can work something out very easily.
Republicans Rock!!!!!!!
I'm in awe of you, Republicans, and very, very grateful! At the close of Early Voting Day 1 last evening, no fewer than 1,201 ballots were cast. Who voted? 996 voted Republican ballots, 205 Democrat.
The heartbeat of the country is strong, the message clear, and the momentum astounding! We will not surrender our country to the forces seeking to diminish her; we will fight to preserve her with every fiber of our being, especially at the ballot box.
It is more important than ever to keep the fires kindled. We must not, we dare not let down our guard, not even for an instant! Let's beware of overconfidence, lest we rest from our labors. You have worked so hard for so long to return this country to the people, let's not slow down now.
Pat yourselves and one another on the back, but remember, while this is a phenomenal start, it is not the end. Lots of hard work remains to be done, very hard work.
The words of no lesser a personage than Winston Churchill are seared into my mind and my makeup, and have stood me in good stead for many, many years. "If you are going through hell," exhorted he, "keep going."
May God grant us all the perseverance so to do, right up through the end, and may He continue to bless us.
