The Pachyderm Club has been enjoying hearing from our City Council and Mayoral candidates over the past few weeks. By the time that this is published, voting will have ended and our winners announced. For those of you who did not prevail this time, thank you for your personal commitment to our city and our party and for demonstrating this by running for public office. Hope to see you on the campaign trail again soon. Our most recent speaker was announced 3rd Congressional District Candidate, Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble. This luncheon was well attended. Thank you members for getting out on a very cold Monday.

Our March 9th meeting will be a memorable occasion as this is the day that we meet at our new location for the first time. We will be meeting in the Insight Room at the Doubletree Hotel which is located at 407 Chestnut Street. This is the former Clarion Hotel which has undergone a 27 million dollar renovation. If you enter the Chestnut Street or front entrance and proceed through the lobby, the Insight Room will be straight ahead. The parking is free if you use the Doubletree lot which is on the side of the hotel. The parking behind the hotel is not owned by Doubletree and will cost you. The gates to the Doubletree lots will be open during our Monday meetings. Our speaker for our inaugural even will be Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam. Mayor Haslam is a candidate for Governor of Tennessee. Make sure that you put this date on your calendar. If you have any questions about our new location, please give me a call at 596-1042.
